PromptPay Bill Payment QR Generator (Biller ID + Ref1/Ref2)
A PromptPay bill payment QR (Thai QR Payment Tag 30) sends money to a business Biller ID together with Reference 1 and Reference 2, so the bank can match each payment to an invoice automatically. It only works if your business has a Biller ID from its bank. For a phone number or citizen ID, use a normal PromptPay QR.
Who needs a bill payment QR?
Businesses that have a Biller ID from their bank: companies sending invoices, schools and tutoring centres collecting fees, condo and housing juristic offices collecting common fees, dormitories, clinics, and any shop that receives many payments and needs to know who paid what. Reference 1 and 2 let the bank reconcile payments against bills without anyone checking slips by hand.
What are the Biller ID, Ref1 and Ref2?
The Biller ID is the 15-digit number your bank issues when you sign up for bill payment (usually your 13-digit tax ID plus a 2-digit suffix). Reference 1 is the main reference, such as an invoice number, student ID or room number. Reference 2 is optional, for example the billing month, and only needed if your bank requires it. Both accept upper-case letters and digits only, up to 20 characters.
How to create a bill payment QR
In the generator above, choose "Bill payment", enter your Biller ID and Reference 1 (plus Reference 2 if you use it), add an amount if you want it prefilled, and generate. Download a PNG, SVG or PDF to place on your invoices. Before sending it to customers, scan it and pay a small test amount to confirm your bank accepts the reference format.
Only have a personal PromptPay ID?
If you receive money to a mobile number, citizen ID or e-Wallet, you do not need a bill payment QR. Use the normal PromptPay QR instead. A Biller ID that is not registered with a bank will simply fail in the customer’s banking app.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is a bill payment QR different from a normal PromptPay QR?
A normal PromptPay QR (Tag 29) transfers money to a phone number or ID with no reference. A bill payment QR (Tag 30) pays a business through its Biller ID and carries Reference 1 and 2, so the bank can report which bill each payment belongs to.
Where do I get a Biller ID?
Apply for a bill payment (collection) service with the bank that holds your business account. The bank issues the Biller ID and tells you which Ref1/Ref2 format to use. QRLoom cannot issue Biller IDs.
Can Ref1 and Ref2 contain Thai letters or dashes?
No. Use A-Z and 0-9 only, up to 20 characters each. Lower-case letters are converted to upper case for you. Follow the same format you agreed with your bank.
Can I include the amount in the QR?
Yes. With an amount, customers see it prefilled after scanning, which suits invoices with a known total. Leave it empty and customers type the amount in their app.
Can I print it as a counter sign?
Yes. Use the PromptPay sign maker, choose "Bill payment" and download a free A4, A5 or A6 table-tent sign.
