Facebook QR Code Generator
To make a Facebook QR code, copy the link to your Page, profile, a post or your Messenger chat (m.me/yourpage), paste it into the generator below and download the code. Anyone who scans it opens that link, usually in the Facebook or Messenger app. Static codes are free, need no sign-up and never expire.
How to make a Facebook QR code in 5 steps
All you need is the right Facebook link, set to public. The generator above is already on the Link type: copy the link, paste it, style the code, download it, then scan it with a phone that isn’t logged in as a Page admin so you see exactly what your customers will see.
- 1
Copy the right Facebook link
On a computer, open the Page or profile and copy the address bar. In the Facebook app, tap the ⋯ or Share button and choose Copy link. For a chat, use m.me/ followed by your Page’s username.
- 2
Make sure it’s public
A post shared with Friends or Only me shows a “content isn’t available” message to everyone else. Set the audience to Public first.
- 3
Paste it into the generator
Paste the link into the URL field and give the code a name you’ll recognise, such as “Shop Page – window sign”.
- 4
Style it and download
Choose colours and a frame with text like “Follow us on Facebook”, then download PNG for posts or SVG/PDF for print. You can add a logo in the middle for free.
- 5
Test it on someone else’s phone
Scan with a phone that isn’t a Page admin, on both iPhone and Android, to check it opens the right page and that the public can see it.
Which Facebook link should your QR code open?
For likes and follows, link your Page. For customers who should message you to order or book, link Messenger (m.me). For a specific event or promotion, link the post. All of them use the same Link QR type; the only difference is the link you copy, so choose by what you want people to do next.
- Page: facebook.com/yourpagename. Good for shop windows and packaging.
- Personal profile: facebook.com/username, or facebook.com/profile.php?id=… if you haven’t set a username.
- Post: tap Share on the post and choose Copy link. The post must be public.
- Messenger chat: m.me/yourpagename opens a chat with your Page.
- Event: copy the event’s link and make sure the event is public.
Messenger QR code: let customers message your Page
An m.me link followed by your Page’s username opens a chat with your Page in Messenger, as described in Meta’s developer documentation. It suits shops that sell through chat, such as taking orders, bookings or price questions, because customers don’t have to search for your Page or message the wrong one.
Your Page’s username is the part after facebook.com/ in its address. If you change the username later, links using the old one may stop working, so use a dynamic code if a rename is likely.
Static or dynamic Facebook QR code?
If the code links to a Page address that won’t change, a static code is fine: free and never expires. If you might swap to a promo post, rename your Page, or want to know which sign gets scanned most, use a dynamic code, which you can edit after printing and which records scan analytics (Pro or a Lifetime code).

Which Facebook link should I use for the code?
Open your Page in a browser and copy the address from the URL bar, for example facebook.com/your-page. For a Messenger chat use m.me/your-page-name. Always test the link in a logged-out browser before you print.
Do people need a Facebook account to scan it?
Public Pages and posts can be opened, though Facebook may ask people who aren’t logged in to sign in to see more. Sending a message through an m.me link needs an account.
Why does my code show “This content isn’t available”?
Usually the post or profile isn’t public, the post was deleted, or the link was copied incompletely. Open the link in a logged-out browser to check, then fix the setting or make a new code from the correct link.
Can one QR code open Facebook, Instagram and LINE?
One QR code opens one link. To offer several channels, point the code at a single page that lists them all. For LINE, use our dedicated LINE QR code tool.
