LINE QR Code Generator

To make a LINE QR code, choose what the scan should do below (add friend, open a chat with a message, share your account, open a LIFF app or add a personal ID) and enter your @ID or line.me link. Customers scan and add you in one tap. Static LINE codes are free, need no sign-up and never expire.

How to make a LINE QR code in 5 steps

Have your LINE ID or line.me link ready and this takes under a minute. The generator above is already set to LINE: choose what should happen after the scan, enter your ID, style the code, download it, and test it with a real phone before you print a single copy.

  1. 1

    Find your LINE ID

An Official Account (LINE OA) ID starts with @ and is shown in LINE Official Account Manager. A personal LINE ID is in your LINE profile settings. You can also paste an existing line.me or lin.ee link.

  2. 2

    Choose what the scan does

Add friend (Official Account), Chat with a prefilled message, Share your account with friends, open a LIFF app, or add a personal account.

  3. 3

    Enter your ID and message

Type the @ID or paste the link. For Chat + message, type what you want customers to send, such as a booking request, up to 300 characters.

  4. 4

    Style it and download

Pick colours, a dot style and a frame with text like “Scan to add us on LINE”, then download PNG for posts or SVG/PDF for print. You can add a logo in the middle for free.

  5. 5

    Test before you print

Scan with both an iPhone and an Android camera, and with the scanner inside LINE, to make sure it opens the right account before you order a print run.

Which LINE QR code should you use?

Most shops should use “Add friend” with their LINE Official Account, because customers can add you straight after scanning. If you want them to message you right away, for a booking or an order, use “Chat + message”. The other modes cover special cases. Every mode builds the link format LINE documents officially.

  • Add friend: opens your account so people can add it (line.me/R/ti/p/@ID). Good for counters, bags and name cards.
  • Chat + message: opens a chat with your Official Account with your text ready to send. Good for bookings, orders and quotes.
  • Share account: opens LINE’s share screen so customers can recommend your account to friends.
  • LIFF: opens a LINE mini app you built, such as an ordering menu, with an optional path like a table number.
  • Personal: adds a personal LINE ID. The owner must turn on “Allow others to add me by ID” in LINE first.

LINE Official Account (LINE OA) QR codes for business

If you sell or talk to customers on LINE, use an Official Account rather than your personal one: it keeps work separate and lets you message everyone who added you at once. Official Account IDs always start with @. In Add friend mode, an ID typed without @ is treated as a personal LINE ID.

LINE Official Account Manager already lets you download a basic add-friend QR code. Make one here when you want more: a chat-with-message code, a share-account code, colours and a frame that match your shop, print-ready SVG/PDF files, or a dynamic code whose destination you can change.

Where to put your LINE QR code

Put it where customers have a free moment and a phone in hand: the payment counter, tables, delivery bags or boxes, receipts and name cards. Add a short line saying what they get from scanning, such as “Scan to get our news and offers”, because people scan when they can see the benefit.

Print it at least 2 × 2 cm. For scanning from further away, use the 10:1 rule: a code scans from about ten times its width, so a 10 cm code works from roughly 1 metre.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a LINE ID and an @ Official Account ID?

Official Account IDs start with @, for example @abc1234. Personal LINE IDs have no @. In Add friend mode, an ID without @ makes a personal-account code, so a business should always include the @.

Why can’t people add me when they scan my personal LINE QR code?

Usually because “Allow others to add me by ID” is switched off in your LINE profile settings. Turn it on and scan again. For a business, an Official Account is the better choice.

Can the QR code open a chat with a message already typed?

Yes. Choose “Chat + message”, enter your Official Account @ID and up to 300 characters of text. Scanning opens a chat with your account with that message ready to send. This mode works with Official Accounts only.

If I change my LINE account later, will the old QR code still work?

A static code keeps opening the old account, so you’d need to make and print a new one. If you might switch accounts, start with a dynamic code and just update its destination when the time comes, with no reprinting.
